DRACULA
Dracula is an American film of terror and romance of Bram Sotcker. James V. Hart wrote it and in 1992 the director Francis Ford Coppola rolled it. Dracula was produced by Columbia Pictures. Gary Oldman, Keanu Reeves, Anthony Hopkins and Winona Ryder are the main caracters.
Abraham Stoker was born in Clontarf, on 8th November in 1847 and he died in London for a disease on 20th April in 1912 when he was 64 years old. He was a novelist and writer of short histories and he is famous now for his novel of terror Drácula which is wrote in 1897.
The cinematograph was invented by the brothers Lumière at the end of the 19th century in 1895. In this epoch the films were short and they lasted a few minutes. They were treating simple topics and the wardrobe and other sets were also cheap.
At the beginning of the film, we can see how Dracula, who was a former leader of a great army, returns to his castle in Transilvania after winning a battle. He discovers that her girlfriend, Elizabetha has killed herself because she thought that he has died.Then he fixes a sword in a cross and he becames a vampire whose only food is human blood. After many years he receives in his castle a lawyer, named Jonathan Harker, because the count wants to buy a few lands in the center of London. Dracula sees a photo of Harker's fiancée, Mina. She looks a lot like Elizabetha and he is going to look for her. Nobody can disturb him, he locks Jonathan and when he is in the city, he bites the best friend of Mina, Lucy. She falls ill and the doctor Val Helsing tries to help her but finally she dies. Then, and in spite of the fact that Mina is married with Jonathan, she falls in love with the count Dracula and she becames a vampire like him. Everyone wants to kill Dracula but she protects him. Finally, Mina fixes his sword in his heart to bring the peace and he dies in his castle with his true look, the prince Vlad.
